Tips for Revision
I am always looking for new ways to help students revise, here are a few examples:
Creating Revision Timelines
At senior years, students often try to cram in all their revision days before a SAC or exam. Encourage students to create an ongoing timeline of their learning. They can do this by spending half an hour a week summarising what they learned, making a note of key quotes and referencing historical views. This can be achieved on paper by working in a workbook or online by using Popplet, Prezi or even Google Slides.
Using Diigo
Diigo is a social bookmarking site. At my school, students take part in a BYOD program and have 1:1 devices and no textbook. This means that they are using the web as their textbook. Therefore, it is really important that they are keeping track of their resources, so that they can recall information quickly under exam conditions. Diigo allows students (and teachers) to not only bookmark websites, but annotate important sections of documents.
